PLG CRM

A product-led growth CRM (PLG CRM) is a modernized version of a traditional Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system that businesses use to manage their interactions with customers. The key evolution lies in the PLG CRM's close integration with product data, rather than highlighting sales data.

With a PLG CRM, companies are able to view activity data about people and companies alongside their product and website activity. While there are no true PLG CRMs in the market today, products like Flywheel function similarly.

A traditional CRM generally has the following capabilities:
- Manual upload and creation of accounts, contacts, leads, and other data objects
- Customizable fields and permission schemes
- Connections to workflow tools, such as marketing or sales automation, to send emails to contacts

Today, the closest CRM to becoming a PLG CRM is HubSpot. While it's not intended for product-led growth, event activity can be integrated into HubSpot via tools like Segment. This enriches their robust suite of marketing, sales, and customer success capabilities.
